Extremadura is nearer to Madrid than to the coast our particular favourite area anyway. A very similar climate to Cordoba, sunny and warm that is, I was swimming in lakes in May when it was far too cold to swim in the sea.

Lakes abound and it really has the feel of the Lake District in Cumbria in fact our franchisee is from Cumbria and he loves the place. Still yet to be discovered by the crowd, you can really find bargains here and enjoy them. It is only 150 kilometers to Madrid and is well worth the drive plenty of houses of all types, but the village houses with their arced ceilings are both cheap and charming.
